More Great Skua Pictures

A few more shots of the Great Skua (or 'Bonxie') which was still on the pier yesterday morning:

It was strange to see a bird we might associate with remote Scottish islands waiting around on a Welsh pier for fishermen's scraps:



Great Skua

A Great Skua had been recently seen on Swansea's west pier, so I popped over about 6.30 p.m. on Sunday to see if it was still there. It was, and tame enough to allow a few photos, although the dim light meant I had to crank the ISO right up, so quality is not as good as it could have been.
