Robin Making Strange Noise

This Robin stopped by for some peanuts on my walk around the park today, and then proceeded to make this very strange sound:

Anyone heard one make a noise like that before?

  1. No I haven't. It looks happy enough though.

  2. No I haven't. I have listened to all the different Robin sounds I can find but couldn't track this one down...laryngitis? ;-) Nice piece of video Jeremy. Let us know if you ever come up with a solution, I'm intrigued.

  3. Awe, maybe it has a peanut allergy;'),it sounds like it is sneezing, or something.

  4. Very odd noise, but otherwise looks healthy.
I heard a crow "quacking" the other day, really made me laugh. I guess some bird just like to stand out?

  5. Never heard anything like that before Jeremy.
Only thing I can think of is it was trying to expel something? I've seen Robins do it before, (and other birds), it's as though they are vomiting something; usually seed or something undigestible.

  6. Thanks for your comments. Keith, it did seem as if it was trying to get something out of its throat, although it didn't seem to affect its appetite!
