Here's a little footage of the Atlantic Puffins I took on my recent visit to Skomer Island:
I used an Olympus Pen E-PL1 camera, with a 500mm or 70-200mm SLR lens attached via an adapter, plus a homemade wind-muff (a piece of fake fur!) over the external microphone to hopefully cut out wind noise without affecting the sound quality too much.
Spellbound! You must be thrilled with this delightful footage, Jeremy. Excellent photography and your efforts to drown the wind seemed highly successful, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Caroline. Unfortunately, my Heath-Robinson-ish wind-muffler could not cut put the people's voices in the background!
ReplyDeleteExcellent video Jeremy, you've really managed to capture the atmosphere of the place. Sounds like your wind-muff has done a good job as well!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant video Jeremy. I enjoyed every second of it. My compliments. I certainly come back another time to vieuw your other video's.
ReplyDeletePuffins have such amazing markings and vivid colours. What a great video, thank you,
ReplyDeleteAn excellent video of my all time favourite bird, Jeremy! I have never been fortunate enough to see them myself so it was lovely to see them here. Your set up worked wonderfully, great idea with the fake fur, I didn't notice any wind noise at all which can often be a problem with video.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to have missed commenting on your Manx Shearwater and Razorbill posts. Lovely photos on both posts! You certainly had a great time on Skomer. I hope there was nothing wrong with the Manx Shearwater!
