The normally-elusive Jay has become quite tame in my local park this last few winters, and a handful of peanuts thrown down to the ground are all it now takes to lure a pair of these beautiful birds within camera range.
Here are a few recent pictures, all being full-frame shots taken with a 500mm lens:
I quite like this one, where the bird is peering out of the shadow and into the sunshine:
Beautiful shots of the Jays. By the way, what is the 500mm lens?
ReplyDeleteOooh!! I'm swooning with envy Jeremy. I haven't even seen a Jay for ages and never managed a photo at all. They really are stunning birds and your lovely photos show that to perfection.
ReplyDeleteI too have a 500mm lens but it rarely gets used as its just too heavy for me!
Thanks for your comments, Shy and Bob.
ReplyDeleteBob, it's a Sigma 500mm f/4.5.
Shy, it's getting a bit heavy for me now in my old age (well, I am 44!).
So close and so sharp Jeremy..... these are fantastic specially that first shot.
ReplyDeleteGreetings, Joop
These are great....Finding a compliant Jay is an achievement.
